POSITION OVERVIEW

Mass Markets is seeking a motivated and energetic video production intern who is social media savvy, detail-oriented, and takes initiative. This position is responsible for creating original video content for our social media and web platforms as well as supporting marketing team needs. The position requires a minimum of 20 hours a week (up to 40 hours a week) and is on-site position at the Iowa City, IA corporate headquarters.  Students are welcome to apply.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

As our Video Production Intern, you’ll work directly with our Marketing leadership to create video via a full-cycle video production process, including, but not limited to, creating a strategy for videos, brainstorming with appropriate team members, and creating and editing the final product. You’ll be immersed into our team to understand where we’re going and ultimately have a great impact on growing Mass Markets' brand.

  • Creates corporate videos and social media content.
  • Meet timelines and schedule for edited videoUpdate and live posts to be used in social media, fundraising and branding efforts
  • Expected to expand exposure for edited videos through additional social media outlets and PR pages
  • Lead and coordinate approved staff/volunteers to ensure we have up-to-date photos of each resident for sponsor updates
  • Other photos as needed – special events, vet days, intern program
  • Graphic Design
  • Create images/graphics for on-line store, invitations and other marketing materials in line with Mass Markets' branding guidelines
  • Other projects as assigned

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates will be willing to learn new programs, processes and technology. Candidates should be positive, driven and confident individuals that will represent the company and its customers professionally at all times. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • Actively enrolled Sophomore or Junior level student with at least 1.5 years of completed college education
  • Solid knowledge of video production programs (Adobe Premiere, Aftereffects, Final Cut Pro X)
  • Knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and marketing strategy
  • Experience with market research and comparative brand analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Well-developed time management skills
  • Ability to work well with others

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be largely sedentary and will be required to sit/stand for long periods whle using a computer and telephone headset.  The employee will be regularly required to operate a computer and other office equipment, including a phone, copier, and printer.  The employee may occasionally be required to move about the office to accomplish tasks; reach in any direction; raise or lower objects, move objects from place to place, hold onto objects, and move or exert force up to forty (40) pounds. 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
